Winners again!!!!!!!!!!
We’ve done it again. On Friday 4th March 2005 Bullet Express
picked up on of Scotland’s top business awards, The Scottish
Enterprise Excellence award for E-Commerce.
This is our 2nd award this year following our Scottish motor
transport award for the same E-Commerce.
We are so proud of this particular award as we saw off stiff
competition from all over Scotland from many business fields.
Over the last year we have been working very hard to simplify
our softwear package and improve customer information, this
award confirms we are achieving these goals.
We hope to have a full paper free system by July 2005 , with
pod’s on the web within 5 seconds of the delivery, due to our
IN-CAB Net-pads being developed for us at present.
More coverage at Bothwell
Our canopy extension is now completed giving us an extra
15,000sq ft of covered workspace at Bothwell. This investment of over £90,000 will add to our
working area giving us over 50,000 sq ft .
This new space will streamline our morning and night operations
and provide a completely dry work area for all operations.

OFFICIALLY SCOTLAND'S BEST
We’ve
always worked towards it and now its official for
2004/2005,Bullet Express has been voted “Scotland’s most
Innovative haulier” by the Scottish Motor transport magazine.
Over the past year we have been working
hard on two fronts which brought this award to the company. The
first was our IT system which has allowed us to bring over 50%
of our daily bookings on-line. This reduces input time and
allows us to move collection and delivery details accurately
direct from the customer.
All information can be booked on line by
customer implant systems or simply through our on-line web page
goes straight to the delivery docket ,therefore contact names
,numbers and any special information is on the delivery docket
and therefore passed to the delivery driver.
A simple user name and unique password
allows you in through our web page to a booking screen, where
you can also track your jobs throughout the day. As soon as you
book the jobs we receive an alert and you will receive an e-mail
conformation that we have lifted the job.
As we are building our business we are
also building the number of pod’s we have to deal with and this
is catered for on our web page. A simple password and user name
allows you to enter your own docket or reference number and
access your pod’s within 24hrs of delivery
Below is a photo of the award being handed
to David and Gary from HRH Princess Anne the Princess Royal.
The second front is the work and training
we put in with the drivers and staff to ensure they are the best
with the best equipment and knowledge available to enable them
to look after you and represent you as well as you would
yourself. The government required a company to help develop a
“skills for logistics” booklet for drivers and we were delighted
to work with Reid Kerr College to develop a drivers handbook on
all aspect of their job.
This booklet will now be used as the
blueprint for all drivers throughout Scotland.
Famous friends at Cash for Kids
Each year we support strongly Radio Clyde’s Cash for Kids.
This year is no different although the contribution will this
year be a massive £5000.
This is being collected over the month of November by our
drivers and staff so help them out its for all the kids in
central Scotland. Our drivers and Staff always come up trumps
for the kids. As usual we will make a company contribution on
your behalf instead of sending xmas cards which usually end up
in the bin and this year that will be £1000.
We always attend the lunch and take a selected member of
staff as a reward for the help in the collection, however this
year our table will be joined by the man who holed the winning
put for Great Britain and Europe in the Ryder Cup Mr Ian Poulter.
Through our Sales Executive Craig Davidson we managed to get Ian
to bring along his famous Union Jack Trousers from the Open
Championship at Troon to Auction at the lunch.
CAMBUSLANG RUGBY
CLUB SPONSORSHIP
This year David and Gary have put the
bullet express name on the rugby shirts of Cambuslang rugby
club.
David and Gary have an association with the
club for over 24 years and were delighted to step in and help
the club out this year when asked by club president Ian
McWilliams.

new shirt and David's Kids Ryan(10),Scott(6) and Gary's kids

BULLET ‘LANDS’ 500k BAE SYSTEMS CONTRACT
Following an initial trial period in November 2003, Bullet
Express have successfully landed a £500,000 contract with BAE
Systems based at Prestwick Airport. The contract involves the
distribution of Air Frame Assemblies for various departments at
BAE Systems in Prestwick to various destinations throughout the
UK and back. British Aerospace have said they are delighted with
the service and feedback Bullet Express have provided since
November and look forward to it continuing for the remainder of
the present contract and in the future.
New on-line Traffic management system
From the 1st of March 2004 Bullet Express will be implementing our
new Stirling solutions Traffic management system.
This investment of over £25,000 will see us through the next
phase of our growth by cutting down dramatically on paperwork
and multi inputting and by supplying major clients with on site
software and printers to print barcode labels and send
consignment details via EDI (Electronic data interface). This
system will reduce our manual inputting by 75% and will remove
the need if required for customers to deal with consignment
notes.
Customer will simply complete an on screen entry page, print
labels and send the manifest created by e-mail direct to our
system.

All our staff and not just the controller will be able to check
all jobs from their desk and call the required driver to check
the progress of your consignment.
The long term plans for this new system will include: real time
pod updates to the customer, On line tracking, Barcode scanning
of goods by drivers and signature capture producing instant
POD’S on line.
ROBERT CAMPBELL –
DSA APPROVED DRIVER TRAINER
Congratulations to Robert Campbell in our Special Services
department who is now a Driving Standards Agency approved Driver
Trainer following the completion of his recent course.
Robert, who is also a qualified Mercedez Benz Fleet instructor,
conducts a stringent training programme with any new drivers before
they set out on their first job for Bullet Express and regularly
conducts driver training/evaluation to ensure our high standards are
maintained.
In addition to this Robert is heavily involved in the piloting of
a National Training Scheme with Reid Kerr College and the Road
Haulage Distribution Training Council, they have produced a concise
learning package which will enable hauliers to develop affective
Customer Care practices and the experiences of Bullet Express
drivers will impact on the final version of the package before it is
marketed across the Scottish Road Haulage Industry.
