In 2008/2009 Bullet Express formed a carbon footprint committee. The purpose of this was to reduce our footprint and waste as much as possible without affecting service.
We started by fitting sensor lights to the entire exterior of the building, followed by movement detectors in all areas of the building without regular usage like toilets, corridors and kitchen areas.
A major cost to the company is the paper consumption and through our XDA’s which have image capture we were able to remove over 3000 sheet prints per week, if customers would accept paper free we would remove the same again, however we will have to wait for that day.
As a trial Bullet had 4 tractor units with a gas conversion fitted which cuts our £700k fuel bill per year by 10%, this has now been fitted to all units for trunking within our new fleet.
